INNOCENT BLOOD

In a world that sometimes conveniently procliams that God is love, it finds it alarmingly impossible to believe that a loving God would or could hate anything. However, In Proverbs 6, 16 - 19, the Bible lists many things He hates, yes HATES, but we will take a look at just this one for now. God hates the shedding of innocent blood ( Prov.6. v 17 ). In Genesis 4, verse 1 begins the very first story of birth recorded. Adam knew Eve and she gave birth " with the help of the Lord " to Cain and later to Abel. It goes on to tell of offerings made to God, Abel's was accepted and were the " firstlings " of his flock. Cains offering from the soil was not accepted. Genesis 4 also describes the first death recorded where Abel was murdered by Cain in his evil desires. When asked of Abel's whereabouts, Cain lied with sarcasm before God. God's reply was " Listen! Your brother's blood cries out from the ground! " ... - innocent blood. Blood is representative of life by God as it is mentioned numerous times in scripture. It was because of shed blood that God disallowed David from building the temple. Because of shed innocent blood God removed Manasseh from the throne to be taken captive in Babylon. It is also by the innocent shed blood of Jesus Christ that you have the opportunity to have all of your sin washed away and forgiven. Blood has great significance to God and there are many references.

There are also many references in the Bible acknowledging the child in the womb. It is written in Genesis 25, 21 and 22 how Isaac prayed and Rebekah conceived, "but the children inside her struggled together within her". Psalms 139, v. 13 " you wove me in my mother's womb". Jeremiah 1, v 5 " before I formed you in the womb, I knew you ". Job 31, v. 15 " did not He who made me in the womb make him. And the same one fashion us in the womb? Or how about Luke 1, v 15 where it is written about John " he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother's womb "

With these verses, (among others) it is clearly written and stated that it is a life, not a choice that is created within a mother's womb... a life created by AND belonging to the almighty God and when that innocent life is slain, it is murder in the first and worst degree.

Consider this passage.

In the 6th chapter of Revelation, the Lamb opens the 7 seals one by one releasing the end time judgements. When the 5th seal is opened, John describes seeing all the souls beneath the altar who were slain because of the Word of God. They cry out for God to bring judgement against those who dwell on earth to avenge their blood. His reply was to " rest a little while longer " as He prepares His vengeance.

I believe that these slain souls will be among the martyred voices crying out for vengeance of their blood. I believe this because abortion is an act that completely defies God, His laws and His creation of life. These souls are Holy Innocents who were unable to confess Jesus by speaking but done so by dying due to an act of faithless disobedience, disbelief and blasphemy against God.

Make no mistake as it is written God hears these cries of shed innocent blood and is recording each and every one - and assigning a terrible accountabilty and responsibility for those involved that will one day be collected upon them in judgement.

However, 2nd Chronicles 7, v 14 provides us a clear path of change. We must first pray and seek God. We must then repent of our sin completely and, just as He hears blood cry from the ground, He will hear our prayers from heaven, forgive our sin and heal our land. Dueteronomy 32, v 35 God says " Vengeance is mine " and unless there is a great day of awakening and repentance, there will be a terrible day of judgement to follow.
